Some Information Dynamics

by White Feather

How does one tell how good a guru or spiritual teacher is?

It matters not how good a guru or spiritual teacher is, nor does it matter how "good" the information is coming from that guru or spiritual teacher. What truly matters is whether or not one learned anything from them. Since truth is relative, how it is expressed and by whom is directly affected by how it is perceived and by whom. The teacher is as good as their student. A good student can learn as much from an illiterate peasant as from a learned scholar; as much from a can of beans as from sacred texts; as much from their own feelings as from the reasoned interpretations of masters. If one is concerned with how good the teacher is, then perhaps they are really concerned with how good the student is.

Teacher/Student are two sides to the same coin. You can't have one without the other. This duality is engaged in order to produce learning, but learning can be achieved without engaging this duality. Learning can be accomplished without engaging other humans (or books). The natural tendency is to engage others, for we have been doing it this way a very long time. This is fine, especially if it leads to an understanding of how we can use our own faculties to produce learning without engaging a duality.

Why would we want to do that? Energy. It's all about energy. When we are engaging another human, not only are we giving a great deal of our energy to them, but their energy is also impinging on our own vibrations. A teacher/student duality is about an exchange in energy. A teacher teaches in order to get energy from the student--whether that is in the form of attention or money. A teacher is greatly affected by their students and so is the information that comes forth. A student learns in order to get energy from the teacher--whether in the form of knowledge or social status. A student is greatly affected by their teacher and so is the information they assimilate. Once it is learned that we can take in knowledge without engaging the teacher/student duality, then a great deal of energy can be saved and the information can come in unfiltered.

What is really being asked is, "How do we know if the information we receive is valid?" We have a built-in information validity gauge built in our bodies. It is located in our solar-plex mind--the other gray matter. This is what we use to read vibrations. Information resonates here and our solar-plex reads that resonation frequency. If the information resonates well with you the solar-plex matches the resonation and it becomes labeled a truth. Just like fingerprints, everyone's truth resonation is slightly different, so one person's truth will not resonate exactly the same to someone else's solar-plex. Once we have come to recognize our own truth resonation frequency, then we can use our solar-plex mind to instantly read the frequency of all incoming information. It can be done very quickly, as long as we don't let the brain take over. The brain reads information completely differently. Rather than reading the information's resonation frequency, the brain uses past associations and input to try to match information. The brain is a massive filing system, while the solar-plex is more of a gauge. If one wants to verify the "truth" of information, one must feel it and that is done in the solar-plex. Once information is felt, then it can be sent to the brain for filing. The natural tendency is to bypass the feeling part and deal with the information only out of the brain.

So if we are exchanging for someone else's truth then that is what we will get. We will never find our own truths that way, though. It is just fine to exchange for information, but before filing that information away, we won't know how much truth is in it for us unless we feel it. After we have grown accustomed to feeling it we learn how to read the gauge, so to speak. Like other parts of the body, our solar-plex gets stronger with use, and so will our ability to feel it.
